3. Media: Video, Audio & Text

Video Streams

When you enable camera access to join a video chat:

  • Video is streamed peer-to-peer (WebRTC) when possible; we do not store video streams by default.
  • If a recording is required for moderation or safety (e.g., after a report), we will notify and store only the minimal segment necessary for investigation, retained for a limited period.
  • Users must consent to any explicit recording; otherwise video data is ephemeral and used only to render the call.

Audio Streams

Audio behaves similarly to video:

  • Audio is transmitted in real time for communication and is not recorded by default.
  • Temporary capture or storage may occur only for moderation, abuse investigation, or legal reasons — with strict access controls and limited retention.

Text Messages & Chat

Text communications (in-chat messages) are handled as follows:

  • Text messages are transmitted in real time and retained temporarily to deliver the message and to support moderation and abuse detection.
  • Aggregated and anonymized text data may be used for analytics and product improvement.
  • We do not use private chat text for targeted advertising.

Retention & Deletion

Retention rules (summary):

  • Ephemeral media (live video/audio): not stored by default.
  • Reported content (video/audio/text) kept only as long as needed for investigation and to meet legal obligations.

Privacy & Safety Tips

  • Do not share personal identifying information (full name, address, phone number) in chat.
  • Use device privacy controls to disable camera/microphone when not needed.

7. Security & Enforcement

Moderation Overview

We use a combination of automated systems and human reviewers to detect abusive behavior, policy violations, and illegal activity. Reports from users are reviewed and acted upon following our enforcement rules.

Ban & Suspension Policy

We take rule violations seriously. Possible actions include:

  • Warning: Informal notice for minor first-time infractions.
  • Temporary suspension: Time-limited restriction (e.g., 24 hours — 30 days) for repeated or more serious violations.
  • Permanent ban: Account, device, and/or IP-level ban for severe or repeated policy breaches (sexual exploitation of minors, illegal activity, persistent harassment, distribution of illicit content, etc.).

What Triggers Enforcement?

  • Nudity, sexual content involving minors, or sexual exploitation.
  • Threats, hate speech, repeated harassment or doxxing.
  • Sharing illegal material or coordinating illegal activity.
  • Using the service to scam, defraud, or distribute malware.

How We Enforce (technical)

  • Account-level actions (if accounts exist) and device fingerprinting.
  • IP blocking and rate-limit enforcement to prevent circumvention.
  • Temporary capture of media/text for evidence when necessary; access restricted to authorized staff.

Appeals & Support

If you believe a ban or suspension was applied in error, contact support at support@globalchatlive.com with:

  • Brief explanation of the issue
  • Approximate date/time and the account or device details (if available)
  • Any supporting screenshots or evidence

We will review appeals and respond as soon as possible. Reinstatement is possible if the review finds the action was erroneous.

Data Retention for Enforcement

Evidence collected for safety investigations is retained only as long as required for the investigation, legal compliance, or to prevent future abuse. We minimize the amount of data stored and restrict access to authorized personnel.
